Glenavy School is a state co-educational primary school that has served the community for over a hundred and twenty years. It has developed a fine tradition in educational, cultural and recreational activities, and maintains a proud place in the community. The school’s success can be attributed to the tremendous co-operation, enthusiasm and efficient service of all connected with Glenavy both in the past and the present.
The onset of dairy farms has seen the roll almost double over the last few years and at the beginning of 2009, we were pleased and proud to have our 4th classroom opened by Jacqui Dean MP.
The rural aspect is an attractive and significant feature of the area and offers a unique perspective on life. With this comes a range of different educational opportunities and experiences which reflect the unique culture of Glenavy School. This is reinforced through the efforts of an experienced, dedicated and talented staff who through modern, appropriate teaching strategies provide interesting and varied learning experiences for our students.
We have an enthusiastic Board of Trustees, which works hard in the interests of all students of Glenavy School. We are all justifiably proud of our well maintained buildings, grounds and facilities.

Dear Parents,
Parent Interviews for Monday 23rd March can now be booked online using the Skool Loops app under BOOKINGS.
Interviews are 10 minutes in length and start at 2pm until 6pm.
I will have the whole school outside for PALS games from 2-3pm. School finishes at normal time at 3pm with the buses running then. But if you have an interview at 2pm you can take your children home with you when you finish.
There will be no one to supervise children after 3pm so all children must go home on the bus or be picked up.
We look forward to seeing you all at these parents interviews
Regards
Kate Mansfield
