INTRODUCTION

Glenavy School is a state co-educational primary school that has served the community for over a hundred and twenty years. It has developed a fine tradition in educational, cultural and recreational activities, and maintains a proud place in the community. The school’s success can be attributed to the tremendous co-operation, enthusiasm and efficient service of all connected with Glenavy both in the past and the present.

The onset of dairy farms has seen the roll almost double over the last few years and at the beginning of 2009, we were pleased and proud to have our 4th classroom opened by Jacqui Dean MP.

The rural aspect is an attractive and significant feature of the area and offers a unique perspective on life. With this comes a range of different educational opportunities and experiences which reflect the unique culture of Glenavy School. This is reinforced through the efforts of an experienced, dedicated and talented staff who through modern, appropriate teaching strategies provide interesting and varied learning experiences for our students.

We have an enthusiastic Board of Trustees, which works hard in the interests of all students of Glenavy School. We are all justifiably proud of our well maintained buildings, grounds and facilities.

Opening Day: Wednesday the 1st of July!

We’ve had great week of snowmaking and are all set for opening on Wednesday the 1st of July.

For a start we will be limited to the beginners area and T1 to just below tower 5. The snowmaking team has been working hard to get us up and running and we will be opening more terrain once we get more natural snow.

Due to the limited terrain we will be reducing our All Lifts Passes by 20% during this time ❄️
