Glenavy School is a state co-educational primary school that has served the community for over a hundred and twenty years. It has developed a fine tradition in educational, cultural and recreational activities, and maintains a proud place in the community. The school’s success can be attributed to the tremendous co-operation, enthusiasm and efficient service of all connected with Glenavy both in the past and the present.

The onset of dairy farms has seen the roll almost double over the last few years and at the beginning of 2009, we were pleased and proud to have our 4th classroom opened by Jacqui Dean MP.

The rural aspect is an attractive and significant feature of the area and offers a unique perspective on life. With this comes a range of different educational opportunities and experiences which reflect the unique culture of Glenavy School. This is reinforced through the efforts of an experienced, dedicated and talented staff who through modern, appropriate teaching strategies provide interesting and varied learning experiences for our students.

We have an enthusiastic Board of Trustees, which works hard in the interests of all students of Glenavy School. We are all justifiably proud of our well maintained buildings, grounds and facilities.

NO Magic Bus running tomorrow Morning .
31 Oct 2024

Kia ora Parents

Unfortunately the Magic bus will not be running in the morning. They have assured us that it will be running for the afternoon however we will keep you updated. We appologise for the inconvenience this may cause. So tomorrow morning you will have to drop off your child off to school.

Just a reminder that we have althletics day at school tomorrow so hopefully we still see you here for another fabulous day.

PS we are still on the hunt for some very fast parents for the parent/Teacher relay race tomorrow. This is a race that we have not lost for a very long time and we don't want the trophy to be heading to Ardgowan or Papakio. So if you are keen please let the office know.

Have a lovely night

Steve
